Welcome
There is a long tradition of successful amateur dramatics at Budleigh Salterton. Since the group was founded in 1938, it has gone from strength to strength, finally acquiring its own theatre - the Salterton Playhouse - in 1970. The Playhouse is a large wooden building set next to the stream in Meadow Lane, and offers raked seating and full facilities for approximately 80 patrons.
Although the Club is relatively small, levels of enthusiasm and commitment are very high indeed. As a result, we are currently able to stage four plays a year, with each production running for six performances - Monday to Friday evening and a Saturday matinee.

We are always glad to welcome individuals who are interested in acting and directing, although these attributes are not a requirement of membership. There are plenty of opportunities for non-acting members to become involved in a variety of backstage and front of house activities.
